Teluk Bahang

Housing Projects

Teluk Bahang is a fishing village situated on the northwestern part of the Penang Island. It is where the entrance to the Penang National Park is located. The national park is formally known as the Pantai Aceh Forest Reserve. Many Penangites, students, and scouts used to hike and camp by the seasides at Muka Head (or the Monkey Beach), and Pantai Kerachut in the area.

There used to be a 5-star hotel, known as the Mutiara Beach Resort in the area. However, could be due to its remote location from the city, the hotel has eventually closed. Nevertheless, there are still tourist attractions in the area such as Tropical Spice Garden, Butterfily Farm, the Batik Center and the National Park. The Teluk Bahang Dam is situated further to the west of the village.

Currently, this region is still considered as a "remote" area. As the property development trend slowing moving west from Batu Ferringhi, Teluk Bahang will soon fall into the radar charts of the developers, similar to Teluk Kumbar in the south.
